The team from the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of BNTU took part in the ROBOTEX-2016 in Tallinn thanks to the financial support provided by the Science Around Us Foundation.
Belarusian team of young engineers sponsored by the Science Around Us Foundation performed successfully at the major world robotics competition WRO 2016 that took place in New Delhi, India, on November 25–27, 2016.
A unique exhibition “Obvious and Incredible: Optical Effects” opened on November 3 in the OLD CITY shopping center in Grodno. 30 interactive installations from the founders of the Copernicus Science Center in Warsaw introduce the visitors to the world of light and shadow, images, holograms, and optical illusions. The exhibition was sponsored by the Science Around Us Foundation.
Minsk Palace of Children and Youth hosted the First Open Belarusian Robotics Festival “ROBOFEST BELARUS-2016” on September 16–18. The Festival was organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Educational Center of High Technology Park, JLLC, Republican Center of Innovation and Technical Creativity, and Minsk State Palace of Children and Youth. The colleagues from Russia taught some master classes for children and teachers sponsored by the Science Around Us Foundation.
Belarusian Lyceum pupils won the 2nd place in a prestigious International Young Naturalists’ Tournament that took place in Shiraz, Iran, on 16–22 July. The trip of the Belarusian team was sponsored by the Science Around Us Foundation.
Belarusian teams successfully performed and won a silver and a bronze medal at 8th International Tournament of Young Mathematicians that took place in Russia on 4–11 July. The trip was sponsored by the Science Around Us Foundation.

Science Around Us continues to support the project involving creation and launch of nanosatellites within CanSat Championships in Russia in 2016.
Thanks to SAUF’s support Minsk Planetarium acquired second year rights to several popular spheric movies for children.
Science Around Us has continued to support the “Net-on-Chip” project carried out at the Biophysics Research Center. The main outcome of the project’s first year was the development of the technology and processes for growing neuron cells to enable future research.
Under financial support from SAUF the “Local Not-for-profit Foundation for Science, Innovative Technologies and Culture named after prof. Narkevich-Jodko” is continuing the restoration of the Nadneman Manor, located 80 km away from Minsk.
Creative team which produces popular in Belarus television project “Countdown” in collaboration with Science Around Us started production of new series of documentaries «Genius of Belarusian Science». This series of films will tell the stories of Byelorussian scientists who made revolutionary discoveries in science. Opening episode will be dedicated to a man who in fact was the first to discover radio waves and invented electrography – Jakub Narkevich-Jodko.
