IYNT 4 – How to Find Life on Mars Electricity in Cat Hair

Exploration of the world is an amazing live process, as the organizers of the International Young Naturalists’ Tournament think offering the participants complex but interesting challenges: study static electricity in cat hair and the ways of regulating it, explore gastronomical predilections of ants or corrosive characteristics of Coca-Cola…

The Tournament is developed for pupils aged between 12 and 16 who have not yet chosen a discipline to study more deeply (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, etc.) but have profound knowledge in all of them. A number of scientific battles form the core of the process; this is the rare case when a scientific competition takes into account both knowledge, ingenuity, and creative approach.

The 4th International Young Naturalists’ Tournament was organized on the basis of Shiraz University. This year it gathered 16 teams from 5 countries: Georgia, Croatia, Russia, Iran, and Belarus.

The Georgian team showed the best results, while Belarus took the 2nd place. BSU Lyceum pupils majoring in Chemistry and Biology represented our country there:

  • Artyom Vorobey
  • Sofia Guzik
  • Sofya Anisimova
  • Alexei Kuzmenko
  • Arina Kostyushevskaya

Team leaders: Ivan Siulzhin, Stanislav Krasulin.
