ROBOTEX 2018

ROBOTEX, which is organized on the premises of the Tallinn Technical University, is considered to be the largest robotics competition in Europe. Thousands of engineers, managers, students and lovers of robotics get together to identify leaders in the development of artificial intelligence and in creating perfect robots designs, as well as to share their achievements and experience.

In addition to the competition, ROBOTEX is a vast educational platform. Dozens of workshops and seminars allow the participants to get acquainted with the state-of-the-art developments in the field of robotics, technology, and business.

The Belarusian team was represented by the students of the Belarusian National Technical University, including the ones from the Military and Technical, Machine Building, and Information Technology faculties. The students lead by the academic staff created six robots that took part in three categories: Robot Sumo, FolkRace, and Line Following.

The Belarusian team did not win prizes, but performed decently: some of the robots were among the top five in their respective subgroups. The participants demonstrated the features of their robots, detected the shortcomings of the created mechatronic systems and the codes written. The error analysis session raises the chances to win prizes in the next ROBOTEX.
