The RobotChallenge Tournament in Beijing
The program involved contestation in 12 categories. The total of about 4,000 teams from around the world took part in the competition. The Belarusian teams included 5 students and 2 trainers from the cities of Minsk, Vitebsk, and Borisov. It was the fourth time Belarus participated in the RobotChallenge in a row and the second one that involved travelling to Beijing. In order to select the best participants of the 2019 World Final, the republican tournament “Robin 2019” was held in four qualifying stages, i.e. schools, districts, regions, and republican finals at the premises of Zubrenok National Child Center that attracted more than 2,000 students.
Most of the RobotChallenge participants represented Asian countries, thus the Belarusian teams attracted a lot of attention. A team of students from the Matrix IT studio and their trainer Elena Petrovna Kulakova caused a sensation with their project of Avatar, a robot for autistic children. This project was awarded the first degree diploma. Another student from Vitebsk, Pavel Sys, took the 5th place in the Air Racing drone competition, having performed in the adult category.
