Restoration Work of National Importance

Restoration work in the Nadneman manor has been carried out for the third year already. The outlines of a solid and elegant manor, lost in the woods, covered with weeds, gradually come to light, showing their beautiful arches, fornications, pavements…

Last year, the builders completed decoration of the Brama (the gate), installed a massive oak door to the basement, completed finishing of walls and inner sides of windows. They installed windows and gates in the coach house, carried out finishing of the outer and inner walls. A rubble pavement was made around the Brahma and the Coach house.

A truss system and roof were installed on the Brovar while windows and doors will be installed here next year.

The past year was marked by the launch of the restoration of the manor house and the green house. After carrying out measurements and engineering surveys, the contractor drafted a priority emergency response work on the site. It also enabled start of the restoration of the destroyed sections of the foundations and walls in the manor house and the green house.

Volunteers were of great help in restoration of the manor. Their merit is the park and the territory of the manor complex cleaned from weeds and debris, as well as billboards installed with information about the scientific heritage and biography of Professor Yakub Narkevich-Jodko.

One more great news: with the support of the Science Around Us Foundation, the website of the Foundation named after Professor Yakub Narkevich-Jodko was created and launched at http://narkevich-jodko.org/. Now all information about the scientist, the manor, and the restoration project is in one place.

Some words about the plans for 2019.
Next season, we want to restore the walls and roof of the manor house and the green house, as well as the amenities buildings of the manor which will be used as a summer school.

People who are not indifferent to the memory of the great scientist are slowly but steadily doing a great job of preserving his heritage.

Brovar, or distillery is a traditional handicraft shop for the production of beer or vodka.
