Youth Robohockey Competition
In May 2014 SAUF sponsored the first citywide Robohockey youth competition in Minsk. Kids and teens from the local robotics clubs participated in the competition, which coincided with the Minsk World Hockey Championship.
The robotics history in Belarus began in 2010 with a unique summer camp program “SummerVEUS”, which combines IT classes for kids with outdoor activities and shows. The program took place at the summer camp “Sputnik” located at the Minsk sea. In 2012 “Robotics School” opened in Minsk. Currently the school has six locations in Minsk, one in Polotsk and one in Novopolotsk.
In 2011 several IT companies started robotics clubs for their employees’ children. In the fall of 2013 the learning center “100 points” and computer academy “Step” opened Lego-robotics classes for kids.
In April 2014 SAUF’s helped organize and run the committee overseeing the first citywide robotics competition for kids. SAUF also provided practical assistance before and during the competition.
