JuniorSkills 2017

JuniorSkills, a mini-championship for pupils aged between 14 and 16, was for the first time held at the world level in the framework of the 44th WorldSkills International 2017, a championship of vocational skills taking place in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the Arab Emirates. It gathered pupil teams from Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Finland, and Belarus.

Belarusian pupils competed in two categories of vocational skills, namely mobile robotics and graphics design. Mobile robotics was represented by Stepan Bogdanovich and Ivan Maruk, pupils of interest groups at Republican Center for Innovation and Technical Creativity, who won the 4th place. Yana Gavrilenko represented Belarus in the category of graphics design and took the 5th place.

JuniorSkills is gaining momentum as an international movement. Belarus sees this championship as an opportunity to improve the system of career orientation of the youth and motivate them to master new professional competencies.
