Research grant to the Biophysics Research Center at the Physics Department of the Belarusian State University: “Net-on-chip biological neural networks: from investigations to applications”. Phase II.
Science Around Us has continued to support the “Net-on-Chip” project carried out at the Biophysics Research Center. The main outcome of the project’s first year was the development of the technology and processes for growing neuron cells to enable future research.
The newly-developed technology included a test pulse generator and a system for registering signals from a multi-electrode array. The technology was used to carry out test measurements, and to develop processes for growing and maintaining a live neuron culture.
The main results are presented in the following publications:
- Cognitive processes and biological neural networks (in Russian)
- Investigations of neural tissue functioning in vitro for biomedical applications
- Investigation of cellular and network mechanisms of neural tissue functioning for biomedical applications (in Russian)
The assembly with test generator installed
32-channel recording of test pulses
18-day-old neuron culture
35-day-old neuron culture
