ICYS 23 – Six out of Possible Six Medals Including 2 Gold!
CYS is a major international intellectual contest for pupils in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Biology, and Environmental Studies. It hosted 24 teams in 2016.
The Conference program includes 15-minute long reports in the format of presentation in the aforementioned disciplines as well as discussions with the judging panel members on the topics chosen. The ability to talk to prominent scientists and practitioners from all over the world in English is an important marker of knowledge level and immersion in the subject.
According to the results of the Republican Scientific and Practical Conference, six best pupils represented our country, each of whom eventually won a medal:
- Liana Khazaliya – Gymnasium No. 41, Minsk, Mathematics section – “Regularity of Substitution Groups Cycles” – GOLD MEDAL

The 2 days of competition were followed by an interesting sightseeing tour. The children descended into a closed salt mine 750 meters below the ground in the city of Turda, visited a medieval castle of Alba and an open-air ethnographic museum. They went home with their medals, contacts of new friends, and full of new ideas.
We are extremely proud of our young scientists! We would like to thank them as well as their teachers, trainers, and parents – each and every one of those who contributed and helped the children achieve such great results at the highest international level!
